Macalloy Tie Bars Used on Airport Tensile Membrane Structure, Kuwait
Macalloy Tension Bars / Tie Bars were used in this innovative structure at Kuwait Airport The products supplied by Macalloy were integral to the airport design. Macalloy tension bars are used to tension this membrane structure used for outdoor ceremonies at Kuwait airport. The tie bars are used as back stays from the main upright posts and to the centre of the structure to provide support for the large span strcutre. The membrane structure of the VIP Cermonial Plaza has an span of 84.7m x 46m between the two arches and the height of the masts are 32.2m.

Macalloy Adjustable Compression Struts used at Alexander College, Cyprus
Macalloy architectural adjustable compression struts were used for the exterior of Alexander College. Macalloy’s architectural compression struts are used to help keep the upright column in place that supports a roof level sun shading screen. The adjustable compression struts are tied back to the main building in diagonals to provide bracing support. The levels of adjustment with the compression members allowed for small adjustment to be made on-site after installation. Alexandra College is a leading college in Cyprus with links back to UK colleges and Universities.

Macalloy Architectural Tension Bars Used Within Unique Steel Arch Roof Strucuture, Hampden Guerney School; London, UK
This groundbreaking city centre school comprises of a ground floor nursery, three floors of classrooms and a rooftop teaching room. And to this truly innovative and unique structure Macalloy provided Architectural Tension Bars to the Roof Structure. Macalloy tension bars have been used to tension a steel arch which is used to support a roof structure and provide a focal point for an outdoor play area at Hampden Guerney School, London. The unique steel arch supported roof provides a a large column free space on the floor below. The steel arch also supports a membrane canopy structure. Macalloy Tension Bars used as Bracing in Glulam Structure of Robert Burns Museum; Ayr, UK
Macalloy Tension Rods / Tension Bars were used for the environment conscious building. Macalloy tension rods are used in the Robert Burns Museum in Ayr, Scotland. The building is constructed using Douglas fir and European redwood and is designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible. The Macalloy tension bars are used throughout the building to provide bracing for the glulam structure.
